Strange considering our warmest high has been around 18.5 C despite the overwhelmingly cold weather we've been having since December.

Continental climates will always have more extremes. For example even NYC has been up to 23°C in January before from what I've heard.

Apparently in Feb 1998 it reached 18.6°C / 65°F at London Heathrow, 6 miles from where I lived in Windsor, the warmest temp on record in February in the UK.
