Nah, just give them both some gloves and get them in the ring...or better still, ask Jerry Springer to have them on a new episode "I don't agree with your views on AGW!"

It's unlikely though, because at that latitude (are further north) the Middle East, Central Asia and the desert parts of the western USA are mountainous and are mostly at high elevations.
Turpan, China is 42'N and it has a July average maximum of 39.7C (103.5F) and a minimum of 25.1C (77.2F). It's located in a depression below sea-level in the Gobi desert.

There would also be nowhere in Europe with such averages either.
South America lacks landmass at the sub-tropical latitude (it thins out) and most of the continent is pretty wet. The only desert is on the western coastal strip.

Nice find. Though maybe I saw it and excluded it because it wasn't 40.0°C. Turpan has an extreme annual range.
New Delhi's average high in May is 39.6°C (103.3°F), 39.3°C in June (102.7°F).
It gets "cooler" on average in July and August by a couple of degrees due to the advent of the monsoon, although the highest sun is in late June due to Delhi's temperate latitude (28°N), unlike northern hemisphere tropical cities which are warmer around May because that's their highest sun period.
Although Delhi's averages in August are "only" 26-33°, trust me it can get hellish. I was there a couple of times, always in August, and once it was in the middle of a drought period, the temperature climbed to 43°C along with pollution and high sun The "normal" conditions are not necessarily better, 36-37°C days with very high humidity are common.
I love hot weather, but Delhi is really brutal!

Close enough, lol, also, which of those other 40C cities gets as cold as Wisconsin in winter? lol. Compared to surrounding areas Turpan is actually very mild in winter. It also gets a mere 16mm a year, a fraction of the 59mm Death Valley receives.
I think the 40-degree weather champions are for example : Bilma, Niger; Faya-Largeau, Chad; Atbara, Sudan; Dongola, Sudan; Abu Hamad, Sudan; Araouane, Mali (I suppose); Taoudenni, Mali; Mecca, Saudi Arabia; Medina, Saudi Arabia and possibly somes places in Oman...
All these places usually go with hot weather conditions (above 40ºC) for six to seven consecutive months with almost no day below 37-38ºC during their really long torrid summer. I quoted most of the desert locations I know but there is a lot more that experience prolonged periods of such high temperatures.
