"Comfortable" varies according the person.

You can respond to my post directly, instead of being passive aggressive. I'm not criticising him because he wants hot weather in July - I'm criticising him because he's crying and whining because it's 'only' 26-28C when that's a perfectly comfortable temperature range, conductive to an active outdoor lifestyle.

My winters are obviously too mild for my preferences, but that's only because they can't sustain a snow pack. I don't even care for cold really.

Have you ever seen the posts from ColdCanadian? He thought high 70s were too cold.

What do you think causes convective thunderstorms?

Doesn't need to be in the 90s for that to occur. We've had supercells with temperatures much lower than that - and I think this season has been rather active in Chicago despite the lack of heat.

Isn't that the whole point of living in places with very warm summers - even below average is comfortable? I mean, you're talking about 26-28C here, not 19C. Instead of sitting on the computer moaning about below-average weather, George should go outside and enjoy summer. Unless he is willing to state that 26C with some sunshine is chilly and unpleasant, I won't be having any of this whiny bullcrap he's been spewing for the past month. I don't care if it's below average or not.

It's like someone in Florida complaining about it being below average just because it's 31C instead of 33C.
I don't understand his summer weather preferences, but one possible motivator for wanting hotter summers is the better outdoor swimming conditions. If he has an outdoor pool, he may want hotter weather to be able to make better use of that. Also, the local weather has an impact on the warmth of the water in Lake Michigan.

I can't understand wanting scorching heat for its own sake, but I can understand wanting it for outdoor swimming.

I didn't say that was the only reason, just another advantage. This year has been somewhat unusual, below average weather more often comes with high pressure from the north.

Don't see why this is such a big deal tbh. We can easily be 28C in late spring and early fall, but there is a limited window for the hot and humid summer conditions I crave.

Or a surabaya man who stated 85F that heat index (81F/80%) a couple hours before solar noon with no rain (just some clouds) considered chilly and "bad for health", Look at my recent thread!

It's not a real summer unless it's 50 C+, conversely it's not a real winter unless it's below -70 C. Anything in between is benign fall/spring weather to me.
