Victoria, Australia, gets around three months of it, from around March to May, with some trees going into June.

They're all non-native trees (plenty of them though) so they don't all change simultaneously. I don't pay enough attention to how long individual trees keep their colour.

Peak is around late autumn, early may.

Here in northern France native trees start changing colors in late September and most are bare by mid-late November. The peak of fall color is in late October-early November and lasts about two weeks.
Besides that, non-native trees can vary widely. I'm especially thinking about the chestnut tree, which can show its ugly brown colors as early as early August, and will be mostly bare by early October. Gosh I hate seeing it turning brown in the middle of the lush summery vegetation, reminding me that the warm season will soon come to an end.

In fact it's because of an invading warm, and it's getting worse and worse, because it's difficult to fight. Unfortunately I can't give you the link, read it into a scientific piece in a magazine.

It's the leaf miner moth, which is a problem here too. The horse chestnut trees in my neighbourhood are already mostly brown or bare:

So I take back my comments about chestnut trees.

It's always very sudden. All the trees change at the same time and it only lasts for a few days.

It typically peaks in mid-late October and is mostly gone by mid-late November.

Autumn is quite long here, first leaves start changing colour by the 3rd or last week of September, peak season is about Mid October and trees start losing their leaves from about late October until Mid/late November.

The first signs appear in mid-September, and slowly picks up from there. We peak in early October, and by the last days of October most trees are mostly bare. In early November only scattered bushes and smaller vegetation may have some leaves on them.
