Im thinking, since dhdh have been mentioning it so much, maybe Nice, France, will fit my climate expectations?? Need to go look for the stats for Nice and see.
I thought you'd find Nice a bit warm, it's only slightly cooler than BA.
wow thanks! yeah, i remember Comodoro Rivadavia being brought up, i think nei was the one who brought it up and i found its numbers AWESOME and loved it. The only thing is that i know that Comodoro Rivadavia is very very utterly windy. Is known in Argentina for being really windy, and i know that can get very uncomfortable. I found Mar del Plata to be very windy for me when i lived there, and CR is way windier than MDP, so (i know, im very picky).
This Nelson place, on the other hand, it looks great! Maybe a bit on the cool side in summer, but it looks really good.
Generally low-latitude islands affected by cold ocean currents are good, as are tropical highlands provided they're not too cloudy / rainy. Oceanic subtropical regions are good as well.
Some examples:
Immediate SoCal coast
Canary Islands
Sydney
Tropical highlands of Africa and South America
Westland/Fiordland (West Coast of the South Island). Having travelled to many places globally - this is the place I wouldn't mind settling in but my family won't have a bar of it .
Rainfall reaching nearly 10,000mm per annum, sunshine less than 2000 hours and a very small temperature range - sounds like heaven indeed.
The scenery is just so breath-taking and the feeling of being stuck in the "open ocean" certainly rings true. Lots of beautiful, unspoilt and green rainforests around which is more than can be said for major NZ/Australia cities!
