This is easily my favorite Saudi climate, and has that intriguing quirk I noticed in Hermosillo where the lows down go down despite a distinct rainy season:

Abha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What do you think? It's officially Semi-Arid, but reminds me of a drier variant of many highland subtropical spots, like upland Eritrean and Yemeni areas nearby.

The Middle East is full of surprises climatically. Yes - there's a lot of desert, but there's a lot other stuff, too!

I expected I'd hate it. Didn't think "best" of Saudia Arabia could actually be good.

But it is. B.

A-, very pleasant with minimums always moderate, and maximums never exceed 37C.
Would prefer slightly more of a winter but that's about all.
Rainfall is more than many inland places here, eg places like Dubbo.
Could easily live in this modified climate.

This kind of climate deserves a definite and if possible minus F.
The very low rain totals - apart from July and August - and the consistently, especially minimums, high temperatures does not endeavor me to this place at all.

Bump up all temperatures another 5 C/9 F and I might rate it -A.

I rate it -B.
The temperatures are too cool/tepid for it to get a good rating from me.
I am surprised that this climate even exists in Saudi Arabia though.

Rain patterns looks like Perth, with a longer summer pattern, shorter winter pattern.
I don't like Perth's winter rain pattern.

Looks like paradise surrounded by hell. I'll give it a C. Rainfall amounts even in the dry season aren't too shabby, which says a lot!

Guadalajara is similar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadala...alisco#Climate

It's surprisingly good for Saudi Arabia, and certainly the best climate in the country. However, it's still way too hot year-round and likely sunny as well (with the rainy season probably cloudier). I will note that the Summers, averaging 82/60 F aren't that bad. It gets an F from me.
