Melbourne easily. Warmer summers with greater chances of heatwaves. Winters look almost the same to me.

Prefer Auckland's wetter climate though both are similar. Auckland also has slightly higher annual sunshine hours with a bit more sunshine over the winter as well.

Melbourne has significantly more sunshine hours than Auckland! Its sun tally issue has been done to death. I choose Melbourne for more sunshine and much less rainfall. Don't care much for either though.

According to this, Auckland has 2060 annual sunshine hours compared to Melbourne's 2031 hours.

Think it would be safe to say that Auckland is considerably more humid than Melbourne as its located on a narrow isthmus, temperatures aren't really high enough to make it that uncomfortable though.

Read earlier threads! The Melbourne number is out of data and is nonsense.

DO NOT rely on Wikipedia as a primary source!

Anyone know which one is more prone to storms? Winters are barely there so doesn't really make a difference, but Melbourne has a record low of -2.8C.. but summers are warmer but not look good .. hmm. difficult.
