Amherst averages about 2300 hours of sun, nearly evenly distribution around the year. Winter is slightly cloudier (45%-50% possible sunshine) than summer (55-60% sunshine). Subtract 5% off the winter sunshine for New Amherst. Sunshine numbers are estimates.
CFL is ruled out... I prefer NH's snow stats, but boy these record lows are lame. Real Amherst is still decently snowy, so I pick it. Though I must say that some months have an annoyingly large diurnal range.
That being said, I wouldn't mind trading my current climate for any of these. Of course, among continental climates, Rozenntown is in a league of its own.
