Darwin: 172
Brisbane: 172
Sydney: 188 (Sunday shows 8 hours of sun but as I can attain there was no way that much hours of sun shone here - more like 2-3 - but then the airport is generally more sunnier than the city, looking at the averages between these two sites, the difference amounts to as much as 150 hours).
Hobart: 245
Melbourne: 248
Perth: 272
Adelaide: 275
Albany: 211
Mangere: 206
New Plymouth ***very suspect, at this rate by the end of the 28th, if the daily readings keep above 10 hours, nearly 310 hours would be attained. I find it virtually impossible that this city could record two consecutive months over 300 hours as this has never happened before in records spanning nearly 100 years and the "current" high is 284 hours in 1964***: 282
Stratford: 243
Wellington: 245
Christchurch: 208
Dunedin: 166
Invercargill: 157

I've already quoted these numbers (and many more) !! (except for New Plymouth which was only complete to the 24th at that point I read them).
If you ever actually read any of my comments, you'd see that I have already added New Plymouth to the (lengthy) list of "suspects". Not of course for any reasons relating to "comparison" sites, as there aren't any. Your remarks are repetitive and tedious.
61.6 hours to the 26th. Not that bad, but only 12 minutes of that has been in the past six days so it feels like it's been gloomy. Should get one or two more hours on Thursday to make up the final score.
Locally the February record will have been matched with a day to spare. Another bright day on the 28th would see an all-months record for % of possible set as well. In terms of feasible/credible totals recordable at EWS sites this month, New Plymouth and any sites further south with a fully open exposure would have measurable Feb. totals of 380 hours or more. 80% of possible has been recorded in a few cases in the Feb. records so totals for such sites of up to 300 hours are not beyond reasonable if cloudiness has been exceptionally low.
Our cloudy conditions continue in Brisbane so hoping for a March improvement. We have averaged just 3.7 hours/day over the last 12 days (a total of 45 hours). Selective reporting, sure, but just wanted to illustrate the recent cloudy conditions here. Our monthly total will be below average but will be propped up by the relative sunny conditions we had at the start of the month.
Today was an improvement (no sunshine hours yet) but we had precipitation during the day making it the 12th consecutive day of precipitation/rain. Lunchtime it was very nice and we got to 29C so a nice little break from the grey sludge.
No end in sight with the forecast though with more showery conditions:
Rather annoyingly, the forecast was downgraded later today as wasn't looking too bad for the weekend. Might be time to bunker down with a good book or DVD box set!
My parents have also been commenting on how dry it is in NZ, in contrast!
We're getting a few seconds of sun today but it's far far from being a "sunny day".
