Read an article about on weather.com yesterday and thought it was very interesting. While I try to look up the actual article again, I in the meantime leave this wikipedia link for 11/11/1911:

Record high and record low for a single day set just hours apart from each other! How rare must this have been, and how crazy to be enjoying 70 or 80 degree weather, then just hours later having 20s and teens!

Wow, that's amazing! And just think, those people a hundred years ago presumably won't have had any prior warning, talk about a shock to the system!
