These two climates which are at close to the same latitude but at opposite ends of the US. Which do you choose?

Philadelphia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Redding, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I choose Redding for being warmer and sunnier year round.

Philadelphia without question, although I thought it was a little cooler in the summer there.

Redding, obviously. Not only is it my wet dream, but it has one of the best laitude to climate ratios in the world.

That being said, Philly's summers are very agreeable.

Those summer lows for Redding look wrong.

I'm actually gonna go with Philly. More variety/seasons.

Redding with a shadow of doubt. Incredible sunshine hours - a sun lovers paradise!

I go with Philadelphia. It's cooler, but with the cruel exception of summer nights. Both of them are awful-looking to me.

Redding has quite a remarkable sunshine to rainfall ratio!

I much prefer Philadelphia though, it's seasonal pattern, sunshine hours, temperatures and precipitation are close to ideal imo.

According to the reference given on wikipedia here the sunshine percentages for Redding don't add up to me - how on earth can they get 73% of possible sunshine in January when the number of cloudy days is 17.8?

Anyway, I choose Philadelphia, even though the winters are too cold. I don't think Redding gets many thunderstorms, which is important to me.
