Why so low? i would think that in a very hot place like the one where you live in, it wouldn't be necessary to set the AC below, to say, 25ºC, since the inside/outside contrast is already high.

Larger area of air I need fresh and breathable?
Nice to take a break and step outside for cool air rather than step inside for cool air?
Just interesting weather comes with cooler air?
That's the opposite of what I said. I like warm outside/cool inside.

I saw this...

Oh, you meant the fire was outside? Like a fire pit? Sounded like you like the warmth from a fire inside on a cold day. Which I agreed with. I like being in an A/C cooled building on a hot day just as much a warm building on a cold day.

Anyway ....... 63° inside right now and I am fine...everything open.

There's too many variables guys... 63° inside in the morning without sun, 63° in afternoon with sun is different. Windows, outside temp, wind, humidity, I don't think we can firmly say things without mentioning the variables.

I said 72 during day, 66 at night but 72 during the day is way too warm if its sunny or muggy or no wind.

not overnight. now that I live in (half)-basement with a granite table which keep things cool. 18C A/C only for the first hour of the night, then turned off, but the room temp still hover around 22-23 at 7-8AM (outside around 26-28 with sun). electric bill around 80-100k rupiahs a month ($6-7) now.

If it were up to me, I would keep it at 74 F during the day and about 69-70 F while sleeping at night (during summer).

Of course, I share this house with my mother, which she likes to keep it just hot enough to burn your skin alive.

I was talking about people who act like cooling a house is somehow worse than warming it. I like hot weather outside but can't tolerate a stuffy room.
