In case you folks haven't taken a look in the "About the Forum" Forum, lately, a suggestion has been made on how to better divide up the Weather Forum by adding some Sub-Forums. Please take a look and give your two cents worth. If not the suggested Sub-Forums, what sub-forums do you think would be better than those suggested?

It's a good idea as there are potentially a lot of areas that could be separated out. I would, however, create a General category for anything else, or maybe a Rate the Climate category as more recently these were dominating the forum.

Although I agree with this proposal, don't over engineer it and create too many categories otherwise it'll be tedious having to navigate around categories to find a thread.

I don't think the "Weather Alerts" forum would be necessary. Such information could be posted in respective state and city forums if warranted. The specific threads devoted to certain seasons seems to be working fine.

I like the way the forum is now. Sometimes the conversation can diverge from the original topic, but I like that. I'd just prefer to keep it under one umbrella so it remains a vibrant place for weather discussions.

I'm happy with the status quo. All threads available at a quick glance. Easy to keep track of.

I think I would follow Hurricane threads more, if they were on the main forum.

Agreed. If anything, I would suggest removing the Hurricanes and Tornadoes forums. If there's a major hurricane or tornado outbreak, a temporary sticky thread could be made.

I agree the the above. I don't feel the need of splitting the forum. I too tend to forget the hurricane and tornado subforums.

I never visit hurricane and tornado subforums. I don't think I'd visit others if they were created either.

Creating more subforums would divide the forum up too much and divide our attention. There isn't any clutter as it is and I like it in the current more or less combined state. That said, Cambium's proposal does have more merit than some others I've seen, and if there are to be any divisions at all, I think that divisions of "N.H. Seasons", "S.H. Seasons", and "Weather History" are somewhat natural. However, it's also worth pointing out that all of these categories are as of now handled elegantly in separate threads, and these scant few threads would make for bare subforums. As of now they do not clutter our attention on the weather forum, and as I said before these new divisions would divide up our attention and eventually become as forgotten as the Hurricane and Tornado forums are now. My vote on this idea is a resounding no.

same opinion that is expressed by the others. I practically ignore the tornado and hurricane subforums. If more subforms are created, I will probably ignore them too.
