I think May is going to make up for April. Looks like May will be setting record highs in North Dakota. I don't think I'll get to post any pictures of snow on the ground this June
Another beautiful 75F/24C day here in Duluth, albeit with some rain. Still deep snow in some areas, though almost all snow cover in the following pictures is gone:
Looks like I'm right on the border. So at worst a very light frost. My current forecast has 37°F, we had cooler nights last week.
I think you'll escape frost in many parts of interior MA, looks like the cold front will do it's dirty work in the Midwest/Great Lakes, then loose a bit of punch as it slides eastward. The forecast for my area (New Haven) has a low of 42 F, and I still think that's a bit too low. We'll see I guess.

No doubt, we had days and days of sunny, dry, stable weather in the whole Northeast/Mid Atlantic. However, the ground here was drying out shockingly fast, I hope the few drops of rain today help some.
Very few plant long season crops like corn here but with the late planting this year other long season crops will be iffy as well.
On higher well draining land on our farm seeding will probably be done tomorrow. Land of ours that is near the hills won't happen for a while yet (praying for lots of sun and drying winds). We were thinking we'd get a lot of snow this winter so near the hills some land was planted with winter wheat, (that piece of land tends to dry out ok but we can never plant it in wet years since the land around it is usually under water at seeding time). We might not be able to plant a 1/6th of our farm unless Mother Nature has a change of heart very soon.
Our land has only flooded, enough to affect planting, three times in a little over a hundred years ...1974, 2011 and 2013.
Another alarm of some kind has just gone off. More smashing noises and this time it isn't the neighbour's angry wife either! Sky is black and we may be about to have a powercut. Tornadoes in the area. Tornado alarm now.
