Berlin, of course! It has a VERY GOOD climate (It's just drier than I would prefer)

Rome, on the other hand, has summers that are too hot and dry. Also, sunshine hours are a little higher than I would prefer. I don't like Rome's climate at all!

Rome. It has an almost perfect climate, very pleasant year round except summers, which are a bit too hot (well the current summer isn't too hot though!)

LOL well... I checked at Wunderground... it seems too hot for me xD (and it hasn't still gotten rain this July, eww). I wouldn't call that "mild" at all xD. Anyway, it doesn't seem much different from the other years, why do you say this current summer isn't too hot? LOL

I checked Berlin's summer as well, it's a lot milder and rainier. Sometimes even Berlin can get very hot, but it's not constantly very hot like Rome, it lasts only a few days... Berlin has a lot of pleasant days in summer

The idea in my mind is that in Berlin you can walk in the parks, chatting and laughing with your friends and being happy, while in Rome you can't stay outside for too long because of the heat, and you have to stay inside with the A/C all day. I don't know why, it just comes in my mind.

This is why I voted for Berlin. Also, winter in Berlin is more winter-like even though it usually doesn't very cold (except for a few days sometimes).

Yes, Berlin is rainier in summer (June- August). It gets about 180 mm / 7.2" of rain, that is basically twice as much as Rome (about 90 mm / 3.6"). But Rome is wetter than Berlin in winter, spring and autumn.
On average Rome gets about 800 mm / 32" of rain per year, whilst Berlin gets only about 570 mm / 22.5".

As for this current summer, you're actually right. It isn't certainly any cooler than average up till now.
June ended up being a bit warmer than average, whilst the first days of July have been a bit below average.
In the aggregate a very average first half of summer temperature wise...

Berlin has snowy winters.

Summers in Rome are too hot.

Rome for being warmer and sunnier year round. I also like that it is NOT bone dry in summer and has a decent amount of thunderstorms despite the Mediterranean classification.

Italy has some very nice climates but Rome is just a tad too warm in summer...

So Berlin for me.
