We all have two to three feet of snow still in our yards but some areas of town were blessed with more...

Wow, these pics of yours make the Minnesota pics further up look downright tropical in comparison. That looks like one frigid climate to me. And that is early April? Sheesh.

Yep early April.

Here's our rather innocuous river right now (lowest, most protected part of the city re snow):

The '74 flood near topped the trees.

Pic taken this morning.

Where I live that would look like record cold. Soon enough you will be basking in nice warm temps!

Even if I like snow in early spring, this is way too much. The growing season in the Canadian Prairies seems very short.

Meanwhile, April in Paris. 12/-1°C (54/30°F) and mostly sunny today, lots of people out and about in parks... and cemeteries.

Some shrubs and small trees starting to leaf out:

Not much greenery in nearby forests (from yesterday):

Loved seeing your pics Rozenn for both the architecture and lack of snow!

I have a co-worker that is currently visiting your city (lucky duck)!

Keep in mind this has been a historic record breaking winter (as it has been in many places in the Northern hemisphere). Normally most, if not all snow, would be gone by now (though a few storms might drop some that would quickly melt).

By now many years have given us +11 to +25C days by this time.

Average high at this time of year is +11C low -2C.

Got some more snow last night. Beautiful as always but no longer a welcome sight.

How often does it snow there?

It depends, it snows every year in the mountains over 1000 meters.

Plus, in Trás Os montes, and Beira Alta it snows at lower altitudes, in some cities a couple of times a year(Guarda, Bragança), but in those altitudes the snow melts after a day or two.

Even Lisbon (warmest place in the country after Algarve) has had 2 or 3 episodes of snow in the last century.

So it snows in the north portions every year?
What would your average high be then?

I find that interesting snow way down there.
