Both are noted for their hot climates, but which do you prefer? Palm Springs gets pretty cold at night in winter, whereas Fort Lauderdale only has a few cool days each year.

I vastly prefer Fort Lauderdale for its higher humidity and plentiful rainfall. And of course the heat is nowhere near as extreme.

Palm Springs would be like living under a blow dryer. The Wikipedia page says it once recorded a low of 105F / 41C. Whoa

Just barely, lol. When you take cold fronts into account, Palm Springs averages out warmer or about the same

There is a noticeable difference in winter. Coldest month in Fort Lauderdale is 24.1/13.9C vs. 20.7/6.7C for Palm Springs. Record lows are also significantly colder in Palm Springs with -7C vs. -2C for Fort Lauderdale. You can also grow coconuts in Fort Lauderdale but not Palm Springs
