Neither country has desirable summers. That's why you find loads of Swedes and Brits in the Meditwrranean during the summer. Also both British and Swedish forumers seem to go bonkers when temps rise to the upper 20's or low 30's, so you know that many here aren't satisfied with their typical summers either
We've discussed this already, haven't we?

Was it George II who said "three fine days and a thunderstorm" when describing English summers?

I don't know, but it's a load of crap, like most weather sayings. If thunderstorms occurred after 3 fine days then I'd be having thunderstorms all the time - I wish.

Sweden is a really poor place for thunderstorms except for the Halland region. Almost as bad as Norway.

Days with thunder in Sweden:

'Days with thunder' is too vague. It could mean thunder observed from distant storms, which is no good at all.

Sweden's thunder days map looks similar to the UK's, in fact, probably better. Both are poor choices for storms.

Interesting that Stockholm in terms of sunshine beat even most of Southern England despite being located at the latitude of Nothern Scotland.

We've been through this. The Baltic Sea clears out clouds before reaching the coasts. Oulu, at 64N gets 1742 sunshine hours a year.

Days with overhead or close to it thunder every season:

How does the sea clear out clouds? I'm used to the sea bringing clouds and rain.

Neither country has desirable summers. That's why you find loads of Swedes and Brits in the Mediterranean during the summer. Yes we had this discussion previously... The fact that lots of Brits head to the Med for holidays is because it is CHEAPER than holidaying in the UK! Yes the weather is better in the Med, but I'm sure just as many residents of Chicago head to Florida to get away from the frigid, freezing cold winters

You tend to go bonkers on here whatever the temperature is in Chicago
