I was in Amsterdam three weeks ago. The weather was pretty dreary while I was there. A few days of rain, a brisk wind, and temperatures generally in the 40s and 50s. It really felt damp and chilly both in the city and the country side. Felt colder in Delft and Volendam. I loved it, but my friend was complaining about it the whole time. The locals said the weather was notably poor, but that the rain was welcomed after a dry spell. The sun did come out for a few hours here and there. The highest temperature while I was there was 59 F/15 C. Lowest was 36 F/2 C.
Anyways, what do you think of Amsterdam's climate? I give it an A. Winters are warmer than ideal, but I like the cloudiness, precipitation, and comfortable temperatures year-round.
Been 4 times there in summer. Every time terrible pathetic weather. Worst was the last time. During the day in Amsterdam 14C, then the same evening back to Helsinki, and it was 23C there at 11pm. Mar, Apr, Oct and Nov are quite good, but otherwise crap.
D. Gloomy, windy, drizzle-rainy, dull, no 'real' winter. Then one 32C day, and after that returns to the normal 19C.
