ok, the southern england sites appear somewhat warmer over the whole summer. mostly thanks to warmer nights. interestingly enough, the jun-jul-aug average high is almost identical for oslo and those sites you linked to. well, well, fair enough.

They all still have warmer highs than Oslo. Ipswich averages 22.4C for those months versus 21.2C in Oslo. Not a lot I know, but still a difference.
I appreciate this has moved away from the thread title. I just find these comparisons very interesting!
Oslo's climate sucks balls compared to the vast majority of the UK's. Whatever the next moron says to disagree is complete and utter 100% rubbish. End of discussion.
The Oslo averages are probably correct. If the avg high in August is 20C, it can be anything from 19.5C to 20.4C. It doesn't matter if the period is 1961-90 or 1981-10, no way the averages would be outside that range.
What I don't understand is why use such obscure temp readings for a poll in the first place.
Oslo has a warmer summer month than here, but I don't think I will be swapping my summer for Oslo's. I haven't gotten the impression from Norwegians, that the summer there is as good as here.
