you know its summer in the southern hemisphere right now, right? winters (as in june or so) go down to near freezing, so no diff...
Um not by a long shot. Melbourne's average July min and max is around 43 and 58 respectively. Temps dropping to 32F/0C is extremely rare in downtown. The suburbs may see a couple of nights drop below freezing (and only slightly below) each year. And high temps of less than 50F / 10ºC are equally rare, and may occur once or twice each year (in many years not at all) and it takes a monster antarctic front to achieve this.
Gorgeous sunny, light winds and 86ºF here in Berwick at 2pm. Meanwhile, downtown Melbourne has only 77. Once again, living inland pays dividends.

i just did a quick google search about it, and the link i found said it did that. but i was just trying to say, its summer in aus, so by winter itll be the usual...
Do you get heavy rains in the winter or summer? We get them in the winter. Does it snow anywhere in Australia?
I can answer this one. I was interested in moving down there a while back and looked hard at the whole country. Australia does have a few places that get a bit of snow. There are actually 8 or 10 ski areas in Australia, the biggest is Thredbo (Thredbo Alpine Resort Australia's Number One Ski and Snowboarding Resort), but there are others around even some cross-country areas.
For my area today (Northern Maine) it is going to be a great day temp wise. This morning it was already 20*F and it is supposed to get above freezing today! Yea!!! I'll take it this time of year.
about 40 degrees colder this morning than when I posted at the same time yesterday morning
