I was talking about the Bay Area. Southern California is a way different climate. As for Gilroy Gardens, please. It is not a year round theme park. It's just a local kiddy ride park. In the winter admission is free, and it is only open weekends, 3PM - 8PM for a holiday light show. Families stop by for a couple of hours to look at the lights. That would not work for Great America.

Gilroy Gardens at Christmas

From Thanksgiving through the holiday season, the park is open from late afternoon into the evening for a special Holiday Lights Festival. With special lighted displays and a festive holiday parade, it's becoming an area favorite, especially among the younger set. You'll find it busiest during the first couple of weekends and quieter during the week before December 25.

Santa Clara Valley is the warmest and driest part of the Bay Area in winter so if you built a Disneyland like park here, I'm sure it would fare well in winter. Explain how Paris is colder and wetter than San Jose and how they generate foot traffic in winter?
