Post the weather records from the most recent month or year in this thread. Avoid daily records, and use weather stations with at least 15 years of data.
Here are a few from British Columbia:
- It was the driest December on record in Chemainus (79 years of data)
- It was the direst December on record in Shawnigan Lake (100 years of data)
- both of these places are on Vancouver Island.
At the other end of the spectrum,
- it was wettest December on record in the interior communities of Fort Nelson, Fort St John, Chewynd, and Puntzi Mountain. Fort Nelson, typically the driest place in the Province in December, had over 4 and a half feet of snow, which more than doubled the old snowfall record from 1947.
There were no temperature records set by any station older than 3 years old.
We had our wettest March and November on record, most snow in one day, our driest December, the earliest day with a temperature of more than 35c and probably much more.
But I could remind you that the minor muncipality of Puumala in SE Finland broke the all time Nordic record of a monthly mean temp, with the mean temp of 23.0C (28.5C/17.5C) in July 2010.
Denver (19 °F/−7 °C) and many locations between the Rockies and Mississippi River tied or broke their lowest May temperature record. Many cities in the Northeastern U.S. had enough rain in June to make that month at least the third-wettest June on record. Philadelphia had its wettest July (13.24"/336.3 mm) and heaviest 24-hour rainfall (8.26"/209.8 mm). Washington, DC experienced its 3rd warmest monthly average low (for any month) in July, at 74.2 °F/23.5 °C; the two warmest were the two July's prior to that
