Record low maxima in summer. Nice day to cool off. I remember it being 71F/22C during one weekend day in July 2012, the 2nd-hottest month in the Washington, DC record.
The holy grail for us has to be the all-time coldest monthly records, because they are harder to break. We've had seven "record-warmest" monthly records over the past 20 years (based on national figures for the past 350+ years) but no record-coldest since 1947, though we did have a December recently which would have been the coldest if it had started and finished four days earlier. Some of the cold summer and dull winter national monthly records seem out of reach now, though all other records I can think of do seem breakable based on recent years.
Although I like the first two options, I'm going to have to pick the wettest day/month/year. We've just had our wettest year ever, and I'm really looking forward to this one possibly being even wetter.
I've only lived in Colorado 3 years, but I look forward to seeing that record cold temp in summer. I've seen record highs in summer and winter and record low high temp in winter, but I'm looking for that cool off in summer!
