Looking independently at the summer weather of Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast and comparing it to winter weather of Darwin; is DRW hotter in the winter than it is in the summertime in SYD, OOL, and BNE??
Yes, but the humidity is much lower. Darwin in winter is relentlessly sunny though (whereas the East coast would be fairly cloudy during summer) and at 12 deg S the sun would still be very strong in winter. It also lacks the cooling rain that the Eastern climes experience in summer.
Clearly, Darwin's winter, even in it coolest month, is warmer than these places by a couple of degrees. Btw, Gold Coast is just a degree cooler than Brisbane (didn't have to bother for that one lol). Interestingly, Penrith's summers are almost identical to Darwin's winters. But Penrith usually averages at 30C - we just had a hotter summer this time.
To note, I've used Sydney Olympic Park's as the weather source for Sydney. Most of us live in proximity to it than the Observatory Hill.

Don't you think more than a single month's data would be needed in order to answer this question conclusively?

Well, simply speaking, the OP can easily Wiki these city's climate tables and compare. At least I was kind by providing SOMETHING.
Obviously I have no time to go through multiple months worth of data of these places. I'm sure BOM has them listed, but we will have a lot of URL's to link here.
Firstly summers in SEQ (Brisbane and Gold Coast) are much longer and hotter than Sydney's, there is no comparison there.
Next, Darwin has no humidity in winter or the Dry Season, so apparent or "feels like" temps would be less than they look on paper.
It would probably be hotter than Sydney, but on par or less than SEQ.
A comparison might be Miami in early spring compared with the Northeast in the height of summer, one feels much hotter and more humid, even while temps may be similar.
