Probably, yes - though it isn't just a case of fireplaces but also insulation and double-glazed windows. There's a reason why so many people in Europe perished during cold winters of the past - whether they succumbed to cold-related illnesses or crops failed extensively due to lack of warmth (as was the case in the 'Year without a summer').

Simple fact of the matter is - very hot and very cold weather are not particularly nice for most people, and cause a lot of problems. No matter how many times snj90 stamps his feet and pretends that excessively cold weather is in any way preferable to what Floridians experience very summer.

This is real country. Not that rap-inspired **** you hear nowadays.

I'll listen to anything that I like the sound of, don't really care what the genre is. Btw, I really like this Dierks Bentley song:

Hell I'll even listen to some Stevie Wonder or The Spinners sometimes. I like 70s "funk" music as well.

I forgot to mention I do listen to some old Southern-style rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd or Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Dierks Bentley is pretty good. I like quite a few of his songs. Many modern country artists do make good music. It's just the bad ones really **** it up since everyone from the radio stations to the local rodeo is playing their garbage.

Some more good modern country.

That's awesome. My trip BEFORE last, there was also a high over the Gulf, but the weather in Daytona Beach was a totally different story. Every single day was overcast until noon, and thunderstorms brought 3.5 inches of rain in the 2 days' time.

Yeah it was intense. The heat index reached 109F in Daytona Beach, when it was 94 with a dewpoint of 77.

Love house music. Is trance very popular there?

I was always puzzled by people that want to live in hot climates, but sit their ass down all the time in A/C comfort. Humid heat sucks. For me, it's the stickiness that I feel that makes me uncomfortable, not the heat itself. When I was in Spain and it was 36°C-38°C the week I was over there, I still felt good walking several miles everyday in that heat, but it was really dry. It was still hot, but I didn't feel sticky because the sweat evaporated off of me and I actually cooled down whenever I sat down for about 5-10 minutes. Here in the US, it's much harder to cool down naturally because the sweat just stays on you much longer, hence the sticky feeling.

A lot of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans dream of living in Florida. I only dream of living in California or Spain. The summer drying trend is God's blessing to me
