Which climate do you consider more "summery"? Please only regard the months of June, July, and August and disregard the rest of the year?

A) Sacramento, CA- sunniest summers in the entire U.S. without a cloud in sight let alone a raindrop (Any kind of measurable rain in summer is a once in decade event). Reliably hot days but cool nights guaranteed most of the time. Sunset time and shortly after is still usually warm but the wee hours of the morning has a bit of a nip to them.

B) Washington D.C.- reliably warm to hot summer days and balmy summer nights with humidity. Thunderstorms and warm rain guaranteed at least a couple of times a week. Much less diurnal range than Sacramento which means less intense heat on most summer days (but the heat index can be higher) and shorts and tee weather is guaranteed into the wee hours of morning all summer long.

Sacramento

For me Summer is hot, dry, sunny days, even if combined with chilly lows.
And those lows aren't chilly, they are perfect.

There's nothing summery about rain, for me.

Washington, DC for being warmer overall, and more humid. Sacramento's nights are anything but summery, in my opinion.

Wash DC. Warm, humid, muggy nights, thunderstorms.

Washington DC for warmer lows, even if it is not as dry and sunny. It's more humid, too.

Easily Washington DC, it is much more humid. Sacramento is basically the reverse of what I grew up with - sunny and dry weather reminds me of anything BUT summer.

Neither.

They both get long, hot summers.

I don't see how it could be argued that one is more summery, than the other.
