I guess in coastal Primorsky Krai (and Sakhalin Island) and coastal Hokkaido. Huge seasonal lag there.

The coast of northernmost Norway also has significant season lag and late budding. Even so it seems spring has advances slightly longer in Tromsø (nearly 70 N):

Alta in Finnmark, Norway (69 58 N and 23 18 E; the webcamera is situated at a hill 213 m asl). Snow visible on the mountains:

Wow. We start seeing green in early March. Sometimes mid-February if we're lucky.

Well nice map. 1,700 miles is still a long distance.
Iceland is much closer to the ice. What about spring budding in Reykjavik?

And what about Murmansk? Seems like green trees there.

Well not by plane. I was just showing the massive contrast between west Ireland and East Canada.

I think in the winter the sea ice is 1600 miles away.
