C- for me. Too cold for too long.

Spent time there, and it's a great area.

D, I absolutely hate cold mornings and very warm/hot days. Plus the winter goes on for ages.

Sounds like a really good place for a ski resort though.

An A for a ski weekend getaway.
A D for becoming a resident.

Those summer nights are way too cold to be considered "summer" and the winters are too long and snowy. The sunshine hours are better than most snowy winter climates though.

The snowfall is great and temperatures are pretty reasonable but that long dry spell all spring and all summer...yuck.

Surprisingly, it’s an A-. I’ve passed through Truckee many times in the winter and once in the spring/summer, and it’s actually not too bad. I normally don’t like cold temperatures, but the daytime temperatures are very mild and the average highs are even warmer than New York City in January. The summer days can get hot, but that’s countered by the cool summer nights. I don’t think I want to live there, but visiting and staying for short periods of time is great.
