Death Valley. The altitude in Alma would get to me. Winters in Death Valley would be very nice. Even the summers in Alma are too cool at night and while comfortable in the day, there are only two months above 60 for highs. No way.
It has nice, cool summer average lows in the upper 30s F, and plenty of snowfall (although not shown on the climate box), and cold winters. It has a few thunderstorms here and there, however, even more exciting.
Death Valley has average summer highs a little TOO hot. Maybe if the average was in the high 90s F without humidity, it would be okay. Having 120F that frequently would be red flags if that place is even inhabitable without a decent supply of water. Plus, without a decent winter, I would be bored. But I'd take dry heat over humid heat any day.
