The gulf stream in its most unadulterated form.

I have not included the Channel Islands as they do not really make up the British Isles "archipelago"

Wiki source looks dubious, although sunshine looks about right, so temps are official 1961-1990 WMO stats from here.

TORRO: Severe Weather: British Extremes: Minimum Temperatures

The temps only tell half the story. Snow is very rare indeed on Scilly, whereas its very common at Baltasound, at least in terms of falling snow if not lying snow.

Very tough choice. Is Baltasound often hit with gails, heavy rain, and snow? I wouldn't expect reliable snow, but I imagine it would often mix in with rain.

Leaning towards St. Mary's for the perfect summers, but I'm not sure yet.

Very windy and changeable with squally showers from whenever I've seen it mentioned on TV weather forecasts. It probably snows there on every N'ly/NW'ly between November and April and even the occasional W'ly, but wouldn't last longer than a couple of days. A lot of the snow will get mixed in with rain. Often when the bulk of the country is cold from an E'ly it's actually warmer up there than virtually anywhere else as they stay in the maritime air.

Oh, and the sunrise/sunset times for June for both places are actually an hour later than posted because of daylight savings time.

Cool. Based on that I'll go with Baltasound.

St. Mary's is very nice though. Summers are perfect.

It actually snows more there then you'd think - they got the first low level snowfall in the UK this winter.

I obviously pick Baltasound for colder winters and more snow..

Both are excessively boring... however I would go for Scilly Isles.

Scilly Isles all the way! Just thinking about the gardening possibilities there from Tresco makes me drool

No contest-St Mary all the way. Baltasound is just plain grim. St Mary is so much better, but the winter looks rather unpleasant, with 22 days of rain a month and low sunshine hours.
