They differ "1 hour" with different dates.

Honolulu - 06:36 am 30 Sep

Nice, is it a whole new job or the same position but in a place that's closer?

Yeah but what i'm trying to say is that it is a different day. Geographically the difference is more like 3 hours rather than 1 hour, it's just because they've got different dst patterns.

Sometimes Rio de Janerio is 2 hours behind me and other times it's 4 hours but geographically it's 2 hours, again it's related to the pattern of dst.

Honolulu is 154 west
Wellington is just west of 175 east

roughly 329 degree difference = roughly 22 hours (or "2 hours")

Honolulu mean sundial timezone : around -10:16
Wellington mean sundial timezone : around +11:39

Pretty much the same position, but of course there's differences in their operations and I don't know what the culture is like. Much I will have to learn. Either way, I'm still in a better position than last year when I went into my field completely blind and inexperienced.

This place is only 50 miles from my house which I know still sounds bad, but it's still a heck of a lot closer than my current job.

Well yeah but there are parts of New Zealand at 166 East.

Which is 180-166 = 14

180-153= 27

27+14 = 40 x 4 = 164 minutes so approximately 3 hours.

Inver? They got terrible winter sunrises - almost as bad as NI! Despite almost 10° closer to the equator

Yeah, well as I've said before the timezone is dictated by the capital.
