Just got back from my 3.5 mile hike around the 'hood. Achieved it in about 55 min, which is a good pace for me. The route includes some decent hills, with up to 150 feet of elevation change (910 to 1060).
The heat wasn't so bad until the last 15 minutes or so, then I could really feel it. Didn't get dizzy, but I would have if I had to keep going a while longer. No wonder, it's warmed up to 87 with dp of 70. Bald sun of course.
At least I've achieved my bare minimum of 3 hours of moderate-strenuous exercise for the week. I'm gonna be getting about 20 hours of exercise when I'm in central New York, no doubt.
It's the last day of July - that's something to feel good about...lol.

Yes to the part I put in bold. You can say that again.
Still haven't been down the shore yet this summer.

Hope you can get down there soon. Is it a pain in the arse to go on the weekends with the traffic and parking? I suppose you could always take an extra sick day during the week sometime...lol. My fave time to be at the beach is when there's a hurricane well offshore. I get totally hypnotized by those big, smooth combers rolling in - I could watch them for hours.

I'm a bit puzzled why you took a walk at that hour. You wake up early, before sunrise. Why not walk then? It'd be cooler, and the sun angle lower. Unless there's something with your schedule that makes it less convenient. I've been trying to time a lot of my riding for lower sun angle times and I don't the same heat and humidity as you do.

For one thing, it's a pain to walk around here when everyone's rushing off to work. No sidewalks in most places :/ Secondly, I wanted to make the Aldi's run to get it over with - they don't open until 9, so that took a bit of time.
But yeah, I'm just gonna stick with the gym next week - I can go anytime, no problem. The real quiet times are between 10 and 11, and 2 and 3 - the 2-3 hour is amazingly dead, just like anywhere else around here summer. Siesta time...lol.
