WeatherUnderground? Wish there was a more legit place to retrieve records from there. But your link only goes to the forecast. I dont see any snow stats but Im only using my phone and probably why. Will check tomorrow with PC. How far back do records go.
If they get snow once every November then yeah, I wouldnt call that unusual but if its like once every 5-10 yrs on average then its not common. Last 4 of 5 yrs may be an anomaly. Need more data and further back.
Ushuaia averages 3 days with snow in November, so it's definitely usual.
This common occurrence can be roughly checked on Ogimet, which is based on SYNOPs.
Anyway, this year Ushuaia has already easily surpassed its annual average of 49 days with snow.

#Cambium: You can back and choose years or months to check.

Thanks. Need a translator now. Lol. Yeah, 3 days would not make it rare unless it hasnt happened much in decades? Wiki also says 3 for November. Avg max 12.1C. Avg min 3.6C.
How many times in last 30yrs has it snowed a few inches in November. Maybe we're mis interpretating what is rare? Maybe the amount that fell and stuck was unusual. Snow falling might not be but maybe the amount was? Twice in 48hrs too.
Maybe sanfel can weigh in too..

This I found out the other day. The weather guy on TV said it and he is a meteorologist, but I want to confirm it. (What the weather guy said was the 150 cm, not the comparisons. :P).
If you thought it was particularly cold and frosty in Canterbury first thing this morning, you were right.
Christchurch has had its coldest November temperature in more than 60 years, with a minimum of -2.8 degrees Celsius recorded at the airport.
Minimums around the city hovered between 0°C and -1°C.
MetService forecaster Georgina Griffiths said it might have been the coldest on record but it wasn't the latest frost in the city.
The record holder is November 28, 2005, although that was "marginal", with a minimum of -0.1°C at the airport.
A sunny day is on the way for Christchurch with a coolish high of about 15°C and a chilly easterly breeze developing this afternoon.
Further south, Dunedin will have a high of 15°C as it prepares to play host to Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.
Timaru is set for a high of 16°C, with morning frost and a northeasterly from the afternoon.
Over on the West Coast, both Greymouth and Hokitika are expected to have highs of 15°C, fine with evening cloud.
Numerous locations in Canterbury and further afield had record or near-record high mean Tmax values in October - not that you'd report it if you saw the information.
Such lovely cloudy and wet weather experienced this week from Tuesday onwards with NIL sun from Tuesday to yesterday and today saw about 4-5 hours of sun before a lovely storm swept through mid arvo with very heavy rain in the city and according to my wife, hail at Bondi followed by cloudy skies until just before sunset
Many sites have almost reached the monthly rain averages in the space of a week
YTD - some to 9am today and some to 8pm values unless stated:
City 1183mm
Botanic Gardens: 1350mm
Dover Heights: 1277mm (Nov. not yet included)
Rose Bay: 1324mm
Randwick St: 1325mm
Airport: 984mm
Lawns very, very green and lush - not bad for another El Nino month and many areas in the SE - SA, Vic, NSW and QLD - have done well too which is great for our farmers
1) You endlessly complain about Sydney's winters being painfully cold (and needing a scarf and gloves ) but you want to move to a place whose summers are no warmer than the aforementioned.
2) MTD sunshine is 166 hours/22 (when you posted) = 7.5 hours/day which is exactly average, not "well below average" you ****lord
3) Screamingcold southerly? That day was an unremarkable rainy day with a mild low of 19°C and high of 21°C (the low was exactly the average January high of Invercargill where you want to move, see point 1), where the **** in the depths of your butthole are you pulling the "screaming cold southerly" from
Jesus christ what a derpoid troll
I can't be bothered explaining myself further and the vapid name-calling goes to show how immature you are which bores me to tears very easily
