A wet start to winter, with between 70-120 mm(2.8 -4.8 inches) of rain forecast for the first of June. Maximums for the first five days are forecast between 15C-18C/59F-64F, with thunder on two days. After the 6th, a return to frosty nights and cooler days is forecast.
I think the Jun-Aug parenthetical statement should be removed from this thread's title. I think most posters here are well aware of what part of the calendar is considered meteorological winter in the Southern Hemisphere. That part of the thread title is just an eyesore.

LMAO. Then again... associating those months with "winter" is just so cool! I say this as it's disgusting 29C here right now. Ugh
Good luck to Southern Hemers for winter. Hope you get what you want.
I think we guys from the Southern hemisphere are unlucky about snow.. look at this forecast to Canberra this week:
Its like always when cold comes, its mean dry..
While in the Northern Hemisphere, when this cold, this means that snowing like a hell..
Canberra should have some snowy days per year, but Southern hemisphere pattern just dont help..
It's hard to imagine anywhere snowing heavy at those temperatures. If anything, it seems like Southern hemisphere places can get snow at milder temperatures.

Thanks. I hope we get a flurry of snow at ~120m elevation. But of a stretch but last year on august 1 the snow level got down to 300m, so I'm hopeful.
