September was dry in the beginning and rainy at the end. It was warmer than normal in the beginning and cooler than normal in the middle. There was some extreme humidity on September 29; the dew point reached 79 at RDU. The low of 74 that night set a record high minimum for the date. Other than those few things, the month was fairly ordinary.

Other than a cold February and a hot June, nothing super exciting has happened this year.

September in Malta was above average & the month started with a heatwave in which I recorded three consecutive nights with minimums above 28.0C. Despite warnings that autumn would start with lots of rain & storms we actually had below average rainfall & just one thunderstorm which accounted for almost the entire months rainfall. It was slightly sunnier than average & temperatures remained hot until the last week of the month...

Statistics from my PWS in St Paul's Bay Malta, against averages from Balzan:

Average High: 30.0C (+1.6C)
Average Low: 24.8C (+3.2C)
Overall Mean: 27.4C (+2.4C)

Highest Max: 36.6C (5th)
Lowest Min: 20.9C (30th)
Lowest Max: 26.0C (25th & 30th)
Highest Min: 28.3C (7th)

Rainfall: 15.0mm (22%)
Days of Rainfall: 4
Max Rain in day: 14.2mm (9th)
Days of Thunder: 1

Sunshine*: 277.0 Hrs (109%)

*Sunshine figures from Luqa

Below my stats in Wiki weather box, alongside those from the Met Office site at Luqa Airport:

2015 till September in Ioannina from the weather station of our national weather service. It is another proof that this station is less affected by thunderstorms because it has lesser mm than the others of the area. I see it many times.
