After reading the Denver thread, it got me thinking that some people feel that the climate feels somewhat sunny and mild in the winter there. So which climate would feel more wintry to you when all things are considered: sunshine, humidity, temperature and precipitation - Denver or Vancouver?

Denver, no contest.

- It gets four times as much snow as Vancouver annually.

-The winter highs in Denver are comparable to those of Vancouver, but means are 5C lower, and the lows are 10C lower.

-Vancouver will never get a day that is even remotely comparable to this: Weather History for Denver, CO | Weather Underground

-Sunshine: It's true Denver gets much more, but still it's not enough to make up for the other factors listed above.

Disagree. Vancouver's cloudiness would be very depressing.

Denver's climate is much "wintry" and also much more desirable for various reasons.

Just from daily means alone (5°C), it's clearly Denver. Average of 72% sunshine in January is impressive for a midlatitude climate.

It would be depressing, but that's not quite the same as more wintry to me.

Denver, despite the mild spells and sun. A Vancouver winter is more like a cold autumn day.

The only way Vancouver could be considered more wintry is if you think grey skies = winter. For many places grey skies = summer, so I don't think that really works.

Denver of course.

Its winter lows are rather subarctic.
