Precipitation

Total Precipitation over the Last Year (monthly data) for Vancouver

May was the driest on record.

Overall Spring came 3 weeks early with daffodils and magnolias blooming in early February.

Vancouver usually gets nearly 2000 hours of sunshine per year, but I can't find stats for 2015. My gut feeling it was a bit higher.
Summer was perfect. Only issue was smoke from the forest fires because of the dry weather.

As for Seattle being warmer, the stats certainly show that, but what I'd like to know is where are the temperatures measured? In Vancouver they use the airport, which is right on the water, and always cooler than most of Vancouver.

Anyway, I give this years weather an A. Lovely Spring, great summer. We had one strong wind storm in autumn that brought down trees, and it didn't feel as wet overall. Then again, I like our climate.

Here you go:

Almost all the rain in August was just in the last 4 days of the month during a major wind/rain storm we got. The first 27 days of the month received a combined total of 9.8mm of rain over the course of 5 separate days.

Sunshine definitely felt above average, I would guess the airport weather station easily hit 2000 hours this year. Don't think it quite got to 2100 but probably somewhere in the mid-2000 range would be about right.

So we did get less precip. Our average is 1457 mm and the chart you posted shows 1141 mm.

Precip was close to average over the year but with the notable differences of April, May and June being much drier than normal and March, August and December being wetter than normal. This is from the airport. The downtown station is considerably wetter.

Only one proper month... March. Lame limbo temps in the winter. Most of spring too cool. Summer horrifically cool, as was autumn. Very typical dull oceanic climate

Similar to here, where 30C hasn't been reached in 3 summers - that's only 6C higher than the average maximum.

I wouldn't say it's typical. It looks wetter and sunnier than most Cfb climates.

Too cool and too wet for me, E.

If it had about 50 less days of precipitation, a little more sunshine, and 10F warmer summers it'd easily get a B.
