Perth is perfect if you like sun, beach and warmth lol however it's not the place if you want a lot of attractions..even though the 1 theme park has got better! It doesn't remain overcast for days in a row like it does here lol, it usually is sunny then a 30 min shower then sunny again, flights are getting cheaper as well I paid like $800 while a couple of years ago it was double!

Only go in summer, Perth is pretty bad (eventwise) in winter. Autumn and Spring can be quite popular too as shoulder seasons. Frequently in the city or at the beach I hear French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Much cloudier today than it's been for the past few weeks

But still reached a warm 23 C

Even better, several hours after sunset and we're still sitting on 21 C here with no wind at all

I've been sitting outside sipping a cold beer in my underwear -- not something I normally expect in the run up to winter. It's like I always say: in an oceanic climate like this you don't have the benefit of guaranteed good weather at any time of year -- but the trade-off is that you can get nice weather when you least expect it

First rain in three weeks, with only 5mm for the last month. Picked up 14mm so far, over about the last three hours. A very low diurnal range forecast for today as well, with only 2C between the forecast min/max temperature.

At 4.00am : 18C, with 99%, raining and calm. Forecast high of 20C, with possible thunder for later on.

Typical! -the rain has stopped and the skies are clearing. No day off work today. It's gonna be a drowned rat day, which means wet ,muddy, muggy and with wasps aplenty. All for a miserly $20 an hour

Career move perhaps? A useful 17mm in the last 4 hours with a brief period of downpour intensity. Lightening off now, hope some more falls with a weak wind change before the dry resumes.

My job changes with the season, and I'm certainly look forward to a change. Pay is usually higher, but it's a matter of taking the bad with the good (contract work). A 10 o'clock start.... I can't wait.

Ended up with an even 25mm here over about 4 hours. Still murky but trying to clear.

CFS 2016 Winter anomaly for South America.

This year Southern Patagonia could be above average, quite oposite of the last year when Central and Northern Argentina got well above average in Winter while Tierra del Fuego got Dumped in Snow.

Yayyyy, South America is not below average for once. At last not Patagonia. Poor North Argentina though, Salta looks very cold right now!

Enjoy the change ...

Sitting in afternoon sunshine on the verandah, very pleasant. Gets much too hot to do the same in summer unless I get out of the direct sunlight. The 35mm event may have saved watering for a while, but I'm not convinced the deficit period has ended yet.
