unlike much of late 2015, much of the warmth is from warmer than above average land rather than ocean. Atmosphere is feeling El Niño, delayed response. Huge spike in the UAH satellite index (which is not measuring the same thing as surface temperature datastets, it's measuring roughly 700-850 mb temperatures)
