I don't see what's so great about the Sussex coast either.
Dorset has more civilisation and better weather than Cornwall. West Sussex has the best beaches/weather in the country if you want to actually go in the water.

Devon has the largest CIDP on the mainland though.

Okay. I think the south east coast is pretty uninspiring for the most part, but the weather is better.

I think Poole and Bournemouth are nice. They have some very nice residential areas, especially Sandbanks.

I'm assuming Scilly has the best CIPD development in the whole of the UK?

Sandbanks has something like the 4th highest land value in the world.

Canford Cliffs is another very nice Bournemouth/Poole suburb. It's full of stone pines and has nice beaches.

I bet if you hid the street markings on that street view image, nobody would be able to guess it was taken in the UK.

My 5 favourite counties (excluding London, which is obviously 1st).

1. Surrey
2. West Sussex
3. Hampshire
4. Dorset
5. Berkshire
Christ, what an uninspiring list! Dorset is nice, but the others...
Obviously it's where you live, so fair enough.

And if i was to have a holiday home, it certainly wouldn't be in England. It'd be somewhere that actually has nice, reliably warm and sunny summers.

As B87 mentioned, Sandbanks in Poole has some of the most expensive property in the world - it's always been a favourite for the rich. Not bad for a place that has 'crap' summers.
