China loves to brag on about its four great inventions: compass, gunpowder, papemaking and printing.

Ancient Rome:

Ancient Greece:

And the wonder that is the Forbidden City in Beijing that was built in 1406, sorry but I find Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame Cathedral and all the amazing structures of ancient Rome and Greece much more impressive. China ain't all that.
+1

I'm definitely on the Greco-Roman side of this debate, being that my paternal side is mostly Italian (Southern Italian too, so connected to Hellenic civilization as well )

This is bad for the US members here.
Apparently it's already too late for the Brits.

There has been polling on the issue of internet privacy and most Brits apparently don't care about it. I suspect a lot of people have a 'If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear' mindset.

And I suspect a lot of people here support the ability of the government to snoop if it stops large-scale terror attacks.

Goodness me, I have never seen anyone so cut up about daylight savings before. Haven't you exhausted your tantrums over a 1 hour time shift in the unhappy thread enough yet or what? I'd hate to see what you're like when you are presented with something actually worth getting pissed off over.

Also, owenc, WHY do you always post 27838y87232239875x9834895974783658734687 images that are 3MB in size? Do you expect people to waste their data on pictures of your kindergarten crises?

That was the mindset here after 9/11 and I think it went too far. Of course there has to be a balance, but what about when it gets abused? Complicated issue.
