That's a bit of an easy way out really, but some people have attempted it this way. Most effective one for transcendental experiences is Ketamine apparently. I personally don't think it's necessary though if you want the most pure and untainted experience possible, which requires more patience.
How can you be so sure your god is the correct one, and not Shiva for example?
Quite an arrogant belief.
God cannot be defined as the religions attempt to do so. It's only when you start trying to define exactly who god is that God becomes "incorrect", or when you associate God with one particular religion.
You could say that the same God is the motivation behind all religions people have created, but the errors begin when each religion places their interpretation of God in a box and try to define him or use him to justify their actions.
God only cares about love, not politics, religions or any of this crap, so God only cares about whether you did something due to love or fear. Why? Because God is love.

For the record, I don't think it's fair to compare trance to prehistoric music just because of the beat. There's so much more to it with the beautiful harmonies and melodies. But the article does make some interesting observations.
A poster on C-D tried once converting me to Islam. She said it's not worth the risk of not believing as otherwise I'm screwed in afterlife, but if I believe, god will forget all my sins.
So I figured out a plan! I live my life in sin, and then on the last day on Earth I convert to some religion.
But I have to go shopping for a religion. Protestant heaven is probably dull and boring, so maybe Finnish paganism or odinism would be suitable.
I wouldn't even worry about picking a religion. Since you don't know how/when your death will come, just ask God into yourself at any time (with an honest desire) and you might be surprised. You won't lose anything from it (well, you will lose a lot of negative things but that's good). God gives freedom, not the other way round.

That's what people, especially royal figures, used to do a lot. Live a life of sin and then repent before death so they could enter heaven. I believe Don Juan was written as a parody of those people
