Wow, North Carolina with all that snow on the ground.

8 inches for Hopewell / Newport News is impressive for there,
not too far from Virginia Beach.

25 plus inches for Block Island and Martha's Vineyard,
also on your map looks like a suburb of Boston took a direct hit of 24 inches.

Meanwhile zero inches here, green grass turning brown in the cold.

Meanwhile it was going to be much more until just 24-36hrs before when things changed and storm was going to be west more. If not for that jog west down south, I would of gotten just 1"

Check out some snow ratios I put into the column here.. Source::

North Carolina.. The 107:1 is an error. lol. Check out Beach Mountain! 28:1 ratio for the mountain there. Is Pitt county closer to the coast?

In CT..

In Massachusetts

And its always fun to read the comments! You can view any state you want. Here's MA

Yes, it's where Greenville, NC is.
Anyway, there's been some melting and sublimation where I live, but I still have about 1.5" on the ground, much of it sleet. That stuff will take some time to melt. But I bet it will be all gone by Wednesday when it's supposed to get into the 50s.

Tomorrow supposed to be 40s, we won't even get below freezing tomorrow night. That will be enough to finish off most of the areas except shaded ones. This pack has been very persistent because it hasn't warmed up. Normally after a snowstorm we warm up and melt most of the pack the day after.

I got 3" on ground. I melted it down and it was 0.20" liquid sitting there. Garden is gonna love the slow melt .... if it can last that long. lol

BTW - I noticed Washington DC and Baltimore got less than 1 inch with this storm.

Snow on ground this morning. 2 days later.

Southeast Virginia with 9-20" on ground still. WOW. Richmond with 6. Norfolk with 5 (airports). http://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=akq

Long Fast loop. Watch the first snow wave hit the northeast then the bigger storm come from South to Northeast

Close up with metars. Just realized Scranton and Albany never reported any snow falling.
