I've been to Limerick, not a great deal there & it seemed, like much of Ireland outside of Dublin, to be at least 20 years behind the UK. Though many regeneration projects were going on...

If you like moderate weather with a fair bit of rain, Ireland. If you like long winters and extreme changes in daylight throughout the year (and speak Finnish), Finland.

A midnight stroll in the bright is nice though

It's also nice to be able to sleep long enough to enjoy the daylight!

The problem with Finland, for me, is that it has a major bias towards cold weather.

In Shetland you can supposedly play a decent game of golf at midnight.
