İzmit set its all time record high in July 2000 with 44.1°C.

This year, İzmit hit 40.2°C but it happened on 20th September, not July.

What is more important is humidity actually. In Early July, we had a high around 35°C but it felt terrible because of too much humidity. 40.2°C that we had on 20th September felt better than 35°C that we had in early July because of less humidity.

This summer was not broken maximim record of all time, but summer on average was one of the hottest ever.

Maximum record of all time in my town was 43c in July 2007.
