Oh, I didn't Oslo was so mild so thanks. I think I'd love to go there. I won't vote because I've never been there. I do love Halifax, though. It's very pretty. https://www.novascotiawebcams.com/en

Yes, Oslo is quite mild. The temperature rarely dips below -10°C in January. It is not a windy city, like Halifax or Bergen.

Yeah, Oslo very rarely has any wind to speak of.

However, Bergen city center is not particularly windy. It is shielded by those 7 mountains.
Using November, which seems to have been a little more windy than an average month:
Mean wind speed in Nov 2017 was 3.6 m/s = 13 km/h at Bergen (Florida).
It was 9.4 km/h in Oslo (Blindern).
It was 9.7 km/h in Trondheim (Voll 127 m asl, avoiding airports here).

Airports are more windy. Bergen airport had mean wind speed 16.9 km/h in Nov.
Ligthouses even more. Færder lighthouse in outer Oslofjord had mean wind speed 34.9 km/h in Nov.

Average wind speed seems to be 15.1 km/h in Halifax (avg for the whole year) - don't know what stations that is based on.

Oklahoma seems to be the most windy city in US with 19.6 km/h avg annual wind speed, while New York is listed with 14.6 km/h. Again, don't know what stations is used.

Oslo has a mean temperature of 6.7°C, that's not mild to be consistent.

I don't understand how this is even a battle. The only thing that truly separates these climates is the sunshine. So obviously Halifax.

Oslo sunshine are old stats.

Who cares about the rain amounts - the rain is simply lighter in Oslo. I can't imagine Oslo being sunnier even if the sun stats are old. The latitude of Halifax is far more desirable. Winter sun angle is 23° vs 6°.

Halifax, easily. Much snowier, and far more appropriate for its subpolar latitude. Oslo – on the other hand – is much too warm for 60° N.
