I was recently comparing these two climates and despite some large differences between them I've also noticed some similarities with them. The 6 warmest months highs in the climates have almost the exact same average, the precipitation amount is close, and so is the annual hours of sun. Which do you prefer?
This is a close battle. I'm going to chose Portland because I like cool rainy weather in the winter as oppose to snow. Thought I do like the humid heat that Windsor gets.
Portland for being sunnier and with cooler summers. They are both E though.
Reminder most US sunshine measurements use a recording method that results in higher totals than the usual recorder out of the US. Typically results in 200-300 more hours of sun than the Canadian recorders (Detroit and Windsor right next to each other but Windsor records 200 hours less)
I’d guess Portland records about the same or slightly less sun than Windsor
The difference is mainly if there are hazy days, not blue skies.
