In the place where I live is around 40C (104F) and I wanted to know how many of you are living in places with a similar weather. What do you do to stand such temperatures?

I live in SW Florida. From May-October, sometimes longer, we will reach into the 90's almost every day. Add in the humidity and it's closer to 100. I hate it and stay indoors as much as possible during our very long summers.

Where I live can get pretty hot in the summer but it does not last very long. Monroe can also get pretty cold in the winter as well but that doesn't last long either. Overall the heat my location experiences is pretty mediocre by my standards but there are locations with summers that are much cooler. What I do to withstand the heat while working outdoors is drink plenty of water.

I spend the holiday season and summer season in a warm climate(Fort Worth Texas), and I spend the rest of the year outside of Christmas and summer vacation in a cold climate(Indianapolis metro area Indiana).

I've worked the last two summers in a hot climate, and lived in an uninsulated tin shack.

One just does what people who live in those situations permanently do - ya make do.

It's very hot where I live. About 6 month of a Summer, and at least three of them are very hot - above 90F with several days of 100+F. High humidity and very little rain. A weather for masochists!
Planning to spend those months somewhere more humane...

I used to think NYC has hot summers. Then I lived in Austin for a year and realized our summers are pretty damn fine by the standards of the South! NYC is nothing in comparison.

Down there it reached 100F with 60-70F dews like every other day throughout summer. Sometimes 40c. And the dews would rise in the evening and hit mid 70s during the middle of each night. Other than that it was a fine city though.

You wouldn't describe the summers as chilly though?

I’m in Houston, Texas. I wouldn’t say you get used to it, but probably more used to it than you since we have those conditions at least a few days every summer. Right now it’s not too bad, probably 98 F, but last week it was about 110 in the shade. When I got in my car parked under a tree, the temperature was reading 115 but that was the driveway heat. It went down a couple of degrees when I started driving. That’s a bit unusual around here, but it does happen more frequently than in Europe. I’m assuming you live there anyway.
