The best month weather-wise is September IF there are no hurricanes.

If there is so much as one hurricane, even if it just brushes us, September becomes the worst month, triggering extreme anxiety.

1. December: Cooler weather and the Christmas season. Best chance of winter weather usually, such as in 2004, 2009, and 2018.
2. January: Nearly the same as December, but recently it has seen less winter weather than December. It also lacks the Christmas season, and school starts back.
3: November: The first cool weather of the year, and the insects usually leave during this month.
4: February: The past two years this month probably brings this month down. 2017 saw many days above 79F/26C, and it culminated at 87F/30.6C. The insects will come back during this month if it is a warm February, and even an average February sees less cool weather than the two months it follows.
5/6: October/March: Insects are still around during October, and they always come back by March. They are usually at their worse during these months as they are searching and are always buzzing around, unlike the summer months, where they are usually only near their nest. I see these months as equal because October looks good in the context of less hot weather following a very hot August, and a hot September. While March doesn't look too great as it brings warmer weather following a nice set of milder/cooler winter months.
7: April: Halfway decent month, with few hot days, and many good days. The last of the cool days happen this month, but the first hot days will occur (except in 2017 when we had that abnormally hot February).
8: May: The return of real hot weather. Usually I am optimistic by this point.
9: June: End of school, and I am still optimistic.
10: September: When will this end? Usually a row of hot days at the start of the month ends what I desire of hot weather.
11: July: My optimism ends during this month, and it is very hot. It is worse than September due to the fact that September is more likely to have decent days.
12: Hottest month of the year here, and by then I am growing tired of hot weather. Temperatures are basically never below room temperature during August and July.
Oops I meant December 2017 not 2018 as December 2018 hasn't happened yet. Sadly I can't edit it out lol.

I'm not a fan of the heat. Autumn weather is the best and you can't beat the overall scent of the air. If I were to say "smells like October" I think there are people here who would know what I mean.

Sounds like southeastern California to me. I live in the Phoenix area, which is a little cooler than places like Needles, Blythe, El Centro, Brawley, and Imperial.

Basically I like the temperate months best with slight favortism for the warmest months over the coldest - absolute worst are the cold, wet, windy, and dark months.

I love the cool, crisp, smokey air of October - with bright sunshine!
